Strip Clubs: Can any organization be considered socially responsible?
Can only certain types of organizations be socially responsible?
How can you tell when a business is really doing something good or just trying to make money or get free publicity?
According to this CNN “dancing for dollars” story, a strip club in Ohio has raised $1,000 for Haitian earthquake relief during what was billed as “Lap dances for Haiti.”
Marilyn’s on Monroe in Toledo, OH, plans to donate 100 percent of the $10.00 cover charges collected this past Saturday to a non-profit to help aid relief efforts in Haiti.
“You know, just like everyone our hearts went out to Haiti and we were thinking ‘What can we do” said Kenny Soprano, manager of Marilyn’s. “Charity’s charity. Who’s to judge who and where it comes from?”
