NORTH AMERICA
Washington: A human trafficking victim testified at statehouse as the bill to strengthen the state’s anti-human trafficking effort works its way through. She was an ex-stripper who was lured into becoming a stripper. The victim testified that she was rescued by her friends right before the traffickers were attempting to move her to Arizona for prostitution.
Also, a teenager pimp, in Seattle, became the first convict under the new state human trafficking law. A 19 years old man was convicted of multiple charges including promoting prostitution, human trafficking, and unlawful imprisonment.
EUROPE
France: A boat carrying 124 refugees from Tunisia landed on an island in France. They are Kurds from Syria, who are often discriminated in the country. The refugees included 38 children ( 9 of them are nursed), 5 pregnant women, and a disabled person. The Kurds often land on Italy, but this is the first time that the boat carrying Kurds from Syria to France.
