Seattle Adult Entertainment: Rent or Buy

Magnificently photographed by Robert Krasker, the action follows Zulu preacher Canada Lee from his village in Natal to Johannesburg to find his supposedly ailing sister, Ribbon Dhlamini, and his wayward son, Lionel Ngakane. Informed by young priest Sidney Poitier that Dhlamini is working as a prostitute and Ngakane has turned to crime, Lee offers his condolences to bigoted farmer Charles Carson, whose idealistic son, Henry Blumenthal, has been killed in a robbery by those he was trying to help. However, Carson has a change of heart on realising what his son was trying to achieve and when Ngakane is sentenced to death for Blumenthal’s murder, he has the humanity to share his grief with Lee in a hopeful discourse.

The action opens with Ray Liotta standing naked on the beach with a giant crucifix tattoo on his back, as he acclimatises to life on the outside after 25 years behind bars as a favour to boss Kris Kristofferson. Meanwhile, widower Forest Whitaker is wandering aro …
