Jennifer Walstrand was found stabbed to death a few feet from the door of her apartment on 25th Avenue South.
The mother of the 29-year-old victim said she is devastated.
I want justice because this is senseless, said the victims mother, Lori Batinik.
Batinik said her daughter was her best friend. When they spent last Sunday together there was no hint of the horror that would come the next day.
The last time I saw her she dropped me off right out here, we said goodbye, there was no sense that she was in danger or that something would happen to her, said Batinik.
Batinik concedes her daughter may have let the killer inside. Walstrand was a recovering drug addict and prostitute. Batinik didn’t approve and they talked about the dangers but she said, You always think its going to happen to somebody else.
