Intelius Sued by Adult Website Operator for Infringement
Mon, Feb 22 2010 01:45pm PST
HENDERSON, Nev. — An adult website operator has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Intelius, a national company that sells online screening services and verification checks for individuals and corporations.
DCAEV Inc. runs a website called DateCheck.com, which provides screening for various adult oriented dating and escort services.
DCAEV says it owns trademark rights to the phrase “date check.”
The lawsuit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, claims Intelius has infringed on the “date check” trademark by selling “date check” online services and a similar verification service application for iPhones as well as non-iPhone platforms such as Android and Blackberry.
“We were surprised to see this application launched, but we are very confident in our allegations and hope to get it worked out,” DCAEV attorney Larry Walters told XBIZ.

Seattle Escorts: Should Kitsap Step into the ‘Sexpresso’ Regulation Ring?

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

The name caught drivers’ attention, as did the fact that baristas wear pasties and thongs some days.
“I can’t go to Hollywood Video or Fred Meyer without having to go a back way when I have my kids in the car,” said Chris Settelmeyer, who lives in Central Kitsap. “I have to detour my route so they don’t see anything.”
Settelmeyer and his fiance Abby Primeaux say they’re frustrated with county “loopholes” that allow stands like Espresso Gone Wild in Gorst and Fantasy Espresso to open on busy roads without screening to divert young eyes that may be passing by.
They cited recent problems in Snohomish County as incentive for the county to take the initiative.
A handful of baristas there recently faced prostitution charges, prompting Snohomish County commissioners to strengthen a lewd-conduct ordinance. The revised ordinance requires baristas to at least wear bikinis.

Seattle Escorts: Bikini barista trial rescheduled

Posted on February 22nd, 2010 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

EVERETT The trial for an Everett bikini barista charged with prostitution was rescheduled this morning.
The trial, which was to start today, has been postponed to April 5. The woman made a brief appearance this morning in Everett Municipal Court.
She was among five baristas at the Grab-n-Go espresso stand on Broadway charged with prostitution and violating the citys adult entertainment ordinance.
Investigators launched an investigation after city officials received more than 40 complaints about bikini stands around Everett.
The Grab-n-Go stand received the most complaints. Officers posed as customers and alleged that the baristas were exposing themselves and allowing customers to touch them for money.
Earlier this month, three of the baristas postponed their trial dates to consider an offer city prosecutors are making that would mean the women could avoid jail time.

Seattle Escorts: PIHA at the Palace Hotel Port Townsend

Posted on February 22nd, 2010 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

This beautifully restored Victorian hotel is in the heart of the historic community of Port Townsend, WA. A former brothel with most rooms named after former working girls including the Madame Maries suite #4 and Miss Kittys room, room #3. Each room is uniquely decorated in a Victorian theme and furnished with antiques and collectibles.

From 1925 to 1933, the upper two floors of the building were known as the Palace Hotel, affectionately nicknamed “the Palace of Sweets” as they were operated as a brothel and hotel. During this time, the Madame of the house, Marie, occupied the corner suite on the second floor. Her room was richly decorated with plush red wallpaper and deep green woodwork, much as it is today. It had the only fireplace in the building, but it lacked a private bath as there was only one on each of the upper floors. On the third floor there were four, small interior rooms which were lighted from the large stairwell …

Six arrested in Mill Creek prostitution sting

MILL CREEK — The quiet Snohomish County town of Mill Creek was the unlikely location for an undercover prostitution sting operation that resulted in six arrests on Friday.
Five women were arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitution and one man also was arrested on suspicion of promoting prostitution, police said. One woman also was busted for possession of marijuana.
Mill Creek police spokeswoman Sgt. Kate Hamilton said she is not surprised to find prostitution happening in the quiet, mostly upscale town of gated communities.

All of the women were interviewed to determine their level of involvement in prostitution and investigated for the possibility of underage exploitation. All were adults over 18 and were booked in to the Snohomish County Jail.

The sting was part of a special operations plan dubbed “Operation Dial-up,” created after a regional sting uncovered underage girls being exploited for prostitution.

Seattle Escorts: Grasshopper Soup: why they protest the Olympics games

Posted on February 17th, 2010 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

I Googled “Vancouver Olympic Protests” and found a very interesting website called “Why We Resist 2010.” To my knowledge, the mainstream media is only telling part of the story, so I decided to summarize the protesters’ main points. It is only fair that even their troubling and controversial story be told in its entirety.
Anti-Olympic protesters give 10 reasons to oppose the Olympic games. They also claim that British Columbia does not have the legal or moral right to exist. That, in my opinion, is proof of an unreasonable extremist agenda. But, not all of their reasons sound radical. However, destroying property and inciting violence to voice moral and ethical concerns may make sense to them, but it makes no sense to me.
They claim the current Olympics is the most environmentally destructive Olympic venue in history, cost $4 billion more than originally estimated and that the money should have been spent on social services, housing, health care, etc. They also say the Olympic games increase prostitution and trafficking in women.

Seattle Escorts: Crib Notes on Canada, From a Canadian

Posted on February 13th, 2010 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

That’s not how we roll here. You see, there are really two Canadas, just as there are two kinds of bears you might meet hiking in our great wilderness. If you come across a grizzly bear, you should lie down and pretend to be dead. But if you stumble across a black bear, you must run for your life. Or perhaps it’s the other way around. The point is that there are two kinds of bears and either way you’re in a lot of trouble.
Outside the happy Olympic village, you’ll find that other Canada — a dark and edgy place. Just wander down to Vancouver’s seedy Downtown Eastside neighborhood where you’ll find homeless people, prostitutes and addicts “jonesing” for illegal drugs just as you would in any midsize American city. To help you find your way, there is even a government information center there with free pamphlets to answer all of your questions. So if you want to “see where the action is” or “take a walk on the wild side,” please go downtown and visit “our government information center.”
