SEATTLE — It’s a day of goodbyes at the Seven Seas Restaurant as its last meals are served.

But Ryther is more than 800 feet away — the distance the city says must be maintained between strip clubs and child centers, schools, parks and other open space use.

“And for a strip club to go in there, no matter how you run it, it’s still kind of not good for property value, for sure,” said Johanson.
Not everyone thinks it’s a bad idea, however. For one, the Seven Seas Restaurant has a lounge where liquor is served, but the new strip club will not serve alcohol.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: The slog of "The Killing" continues

There were intimations that Linden is a “Manhunter”-style brilliant burnout whose commitment to the job once drove her insane — thus her boyfriend’s stray comment about not wanting to visit her in a hospital again, watching her stare at blank walls — but at least in “Manhunter,” you got the impression that Det. Will Graham really was brilliant, and therefore worth all the trouble he caused. That’s clearly not the case with either detective assigned to the Larsen case, no matter how strenuously the scripts insist otherwise.
The scene where the detectives visit Belko’s mother might have been the worst scene in the entire season to date. Really, “The Killing”? The aging prostitute mom who raised her son in a brothel and once murdered his favorite pet and putters around yammering and chain-smoking while dressed like Blanche DuBois in a community theater production of “A Streetcar Named Desire”? The scenario was weak, and the acting was even weaker. After a certain point I wanted to jump into the screen and beg the actress to stop saying the word “Belko.”

Street walkers have a habit of working the neighborhoods east of the Seattle Center, and Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes has a plan to deal with the problem. Holmes wants to establish a “stay out of area of prostitution“, or SOAP, stretching east and south from the Seattle Center.
When a prostitute is convicted, the SOAP order essentially bans the sex worker from entering the neighborhood for any reason.

But the gym owner says police need this tool so prostitutes and their customers know to steer clear of the neighborhood.
“If the prostitute or the John has been already busted for prostitution or for soliciting of prostitution, I think there should be some restrictions,” he said.

New strip club may open in North Seattle City issued permit for site of former Seven Seas restaurant By CASEY McNERTHNEY, SEATTLEPI.COM Published 02:43 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011

The Seven Seas site, located in Maple Leaf, is roughly a mile and a half from the former site of Rick’s strip club in Lake City.
Rick’s was seized as part of the racketeering prosecution of Frank Colacurcio Sr., his son Frank Jr. and their associates. The elder Colacurcio died last year, and his son pleaded guilty, agreeing to forfeit more than $1 million and his interest in four strip clubs and the group’s Talents West offices, located near the Seven Seas restaurant site on Lake City Way.
Both Rick’s and the Talents West building are being auctioned June 29, and there’s a possibility Rick’s could reopen as a strip club with a new owner.

At one point, the Colacurcio organization’s string of strip clubs spanned 10 Western states. Over the years, the clubs dwindled to four but still remained under the glare of law-enforcement investigations.
