Seattle Adult Entertainment: Arizona Deputy’s Shooting Draws New Fire

Posted on September 29th, 2010 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

… The story about an Arizona sheriff’s deputy who may have faked a shooting to increase racial tensions over the state’s new immigration bill – written by Seattle Weekly sister paper Phoenix New Times and published as well by SW – is getting national attention and, more importantly, local results. ABC, among others, picked up the story last night, essentially repeating the results of Paul Rubin’s four-month investigation into Pinal County Deputy Louie Puroll’s shooting by – Puroll claimed – Mexican drug smugglers, even though experts now say the wound appeared self-inflicted.
The “strange tale,” as Diane Sawyer termed it, was used by Sen. John McCain to promote his re-election effort and co-opted by anti-immigration proponents in the battle over S.B. 1070, the new “papers please” law (in which ex-Seattle prostitute and accused murderer Shawna Forde became a symbol). Now, in the New Times story’s wake, the deputy isn’t talking anymore and his boss the sheriff has re-opened an investigation into the claims. The ABC report below:

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Burien Little Theatre’s ‘Reefer’ revels in non PC satire

Posted on September 28th, 2010 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

The show opens with a stern warning from the Lecturer (a perfectly cast Russ Kay) about the evils of “Mary Jane” and how it is as big a threat to Americans as socialism. The Lecturer appears periodically throughout the show (sometimes as different characters) and acts as the narrator.
Jimmy is the kind of kid you would be proud to have dating your daughter. He’s athletic, smart, and respectful toward everyone he meets. All is well until he meets the mysterious Jack Stone (Johnny Patchamatla,) a drug dealer who operates a shady business at his home, also known as the “Reefer Den.”
Jack takes Jimmy back to the Reefer Den where he meets Sally (Amanda Falcone), a hopped up addict who prostitutes herself out for drug money to support herself and her baby; Mae (Michelle Flowers, who sports a bravura singing voice), a fellow user who warns Jimmy to not make the same mistakes she made; and an out-of-control ex-college student named Ralph (an outstanding Nathaniel Jones).

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Shawna Forde/Gunny Bush Mexican Border Murder Trials Delayed in Arizona Until 2011

Shawna Forde/Gunny Bush Mexican Border Murder Trials Delayed in Arizona Until 2011
The two Washington white supremacists charged in the double murder of a Latino father and daughter in Arizona won’t be going to court this year after all. The trial of Jason Bush of Wenatchee has now been moved to next March while his co-defendant, former Seattle prostitute and Everett city council candidate Shawna Forde is expected to stand trial in January. But legal maneuverings and new developments may mean further delays: Bush is apparently ratting out Forde and a third co-conspirator, drug dealer Albert Gaxiola, who may be ratting out each other. Forde also surprisingly showed up in court yesterday, the first time since her arraignment for the May 2009 homicides, revealing that the onetime blonde Minuteman leader has turned brunette in stir.

Seattle Strip Clubs: Washington Man Sentenced in Strip Club Case

Posted on September 28th, 2010 in Seattle strip clubs by stripclubbouncer

… With the permanent closure of these strip clubs, divesting the defendants of millions of dollars, and the transfer of the club properties to the government, Seattle is now a safer and cleaner place to live,” said Marcus Williams, the IRS Special Agent in Charge of the Pacific Northwest. “In the end, crime never pays, and the results of this investigation prove that.” In April 2010, the first group of defendants, all Colacurcio associates, entered guilty pleas and the strip club properties were closed. The strip clubs run by this organization include Rick’s in Seattle, Fox’s in Parkland, Pierce County, Honey’s in Everett and Sugar’s in Shoreline. With this final sentencing, the government will move to take control of the Rick’s, Sugar’s and Talents West properties and put them up for sale.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: $150K bail for woman accused in tow truck driver’s death

Posted on September 25th, 2010 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

… This person for some reason cut across all lanes and ended up hitting this tow truck driver even though there was plenty of traffic control and plenty of lights to notify approaching traffic that there was a collision scene ahead,” said State Patrol Trooper Trisena John.
Padilla, of Burien, died at the scene.
Investigators said the woman driving the SUV sped off but was captured minutes later at the bottom of the Michigan Street off-ramp.
When troopers arrived they found Lewis standing outside the SUV, but the keys to the vehicle were in her pocket. Officials said she appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
At Saturday’s court hearing, prosecutor Jennifer Peterson argued for a $250,000 bail, saying Lewis has had 14 arrest warrants since 2003 and that she is a “danger to community.”
Her criminal record includes previous misdemeanor convictions for prostitution and possession of marijuana, plus a gross misdemeanor conviction for fourth-degree assault.

Seattle Strip Clubs: Son of Seattle strip club mogul sentenced in racketeering charge

Son of Seattle strip club mogul sentenced in racketeering charge

Having pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering in June, Frank Colacurcio Jr. was sentenced in accordance with a plea agreement. Four other men associated with his father’s strip club chain previously were sentenced to probation; Frank Colacurcio Sr, died shortly after his 93rd birthday while under federal indictment.
Entering the plea following lengthy negotiations, Frank Colacurcio Jr. joined four other men associated with his father who’ve pleaded guilty to federal charges related to allegations of prostitution at the Seattle-area strip club chain.

At issue are allegations that the strip clubs — Rick’s, Sugar’s in Shoreline, Honey’s in Everett and Fox’s in Tacoma — were used as fronts for prostitution that allegedly garnered the men $25 million in the four years preceding the indictment. Each of the clubs has since been closed as part of a plea agreement struck by the other defendants.

As part of a plea deal, the strip clubs were forced to close.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: The Pac-10 Could Have Their Title Game In Las Vegas (In Theory)

Posted on September 23rd, 2010 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

Yes, the stadium’s too small, and the threat of gambling influencing the outcome of the game, and the thought of losing a mascot to an arrest for solicitation of a prostitute does seem more troubling than it should. (Remember: not legal in the city, lascivious mascots of the Pac-10. I’m not talking to anyone in particular.)
There is a long list of potential sites for a Pac-10 championship game.
Phoenix (Glendale), Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, and San Diego all have their resume points. Glendale’s stadium is first-class, the Coliseum and Rose Bowl in LA are marquee college football stages; San Diego and San Francisco are already tourist destinations, and Oakland is a thrilling theme park ride for the whole family. Seattle is a great choice for the conference if they want to avoid direct sunlight at all costs.
