Seattle Adult Entertainment: Rent or Buy

Magnificently photographed by Robert Krasker, the action follows Zulu preacher Canada Lee from his village in Natal to Johannesburg to find his supposedly ailing sister, Ribbon Dhlamini, and his wayward son, Lionel Ngakane. Informed by young priest Sidney Poitier that Dhlamini is working as a prostitute and Ngakane has turned to crime, Lee offers his condolences to bigoted farmer Charles Carson, whose idealistic son, Henry Blumenthal, has been killed in a robbery by those he was trying to help. However, Carson has a change of heart on realising what his son was trying to achieve and when Ngakane is sentenced to death for Blumenthal’s murder, he has the humanity to share his grief with Lee in a hopeful discourse.

The action opens with Ray Liotta standing naked on the beach with a giant crucifix tattoo on his back, as he acclimatises to life on the outside after 25 years behind bars as a favour to boss Kris Kristofferson. Meanwhile, widower Forest Whitaker is wandering aro …

Living on the edge was the theme of the evening: one of a man frozen to his roof after a nap who was afraid to ask for help out of humility. Keillor said “winter is nature’s attempt to kill you.”
Another of Wobegon citizens lost a finger. When he was on his way to the hospital, he hit a deer whose antlers almost blinded the man.
Keillor also taught a valuable lesson. When trying to calm problems with family, the peace offering must be homemade, and the incident that caused the trouble must never be brought up.
Keillor spoke about one of his own experiences from last year. He was visiting a massage parlor and experienced a terrifying slur of speech. When he finally reached the hospital, he was told that he had experienced a stroke.

THE last time artist Lauren-Jade Ryan entered the Archibald Prize, her subject was Adelaide brothel madam Stormy Summers.
This time she hopes to have more luck with her portrait of Isobel Redmond, who became Opposition Leader during the Liberal Party’s stormy winter of 2009.
“They’re very different females, Stormy being a little bit outrageous,” Ryan said at yesterday’s final sitting. “Isobel recites poetry like my grandmother always did, so I find that endearing.”
The final sitting was a rushed affair as Ms Redmond stepped off the campaign trail, threw on the flame-coloured dress she wears in the portrait, gulped down a cup of tea and made for her chair.
“For a person who hates having her picture taken, I’ve taken a really strange career path,” she said. “There are pictures of me all over the state.”

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Barista-prostitution trial in Everett rescheduled for April

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

EVERETT — The trial for an Everett bikini barista charged with prostitution was rescheduled Monday.
The trial, which was to start this week, has been postponed to April 5. The woman made a brief appearance in Everett Municipal Court.
She was among five baristas at the Grab-n-Go espresso stand on Broadway charged with prostitution and violating the city’s adult entertainment ordinance.
Investigators launched an investigation after city officials received more than 40 complaints about bikini coffee stands around Everett.
The Grab-n-Go stand received the most complaints. Officers posed as customers and alleged that the baristas were exposing themselves and allowing customers to touch them for money.
Earlier this month three of the baristas postponed their trial dates to consider an offer city prosecutors are making that would mean the women could avoid jail time.
