Beauty on 99
Good example
Original works, such as the one at right, created by local artists now beautify bus stops along Highway 99 between Everett and Shoreline.
Inspired by the public art project, the proprietors of a nearby business, Royal Touch Massage Parlor and Tattoo Emporium, hung a Thomas Kinkade print over the sofa in their waiting area.
Green acres: Even city slickers love FarmVille, the wildly popular farm simulation game on Facebook.
It’s a simple game, but also realistic: The only way to win is to collect agriculture subsidies from the federal government, which you then use to bribe the FarmVille County Board of Commissioners to rezone your property for commercial or residential.
Home trends: Two-story foyers? Lavish bathrooms? Media rooms? They’re so 2005. The hot items today are energy-efficient, not-so-big homes with plenty of natural light, surveys say.

Seattle Strip Clubs: Feisty, intense and smart, friends recall Burien’s Cherisse Luxa

SeaTac Police Capt. Annette Louie said Cherisse joined the King County Sheriff’s Office in June 1976. Her request for patrol duty was denied because she was a woman. She sued the sheriff and won. Cherisse was assigned to the Burien precinct as a patrol officer.
She later joined the Green River Task Force. She kept in touch with the families of several victims of Gary Ridgway, even after the task force disbanded. Suffering from the effects of fibromyalgia, Cherisse very reluctantly retired in 1993.
At the wake, a male cop said he knew that if a burly suspect in a dangerous area ever attacked him, Cherisse would have had his back despite her small stature. “Even if she had to be like Woody Woodpecker around his neck.” Capt. Louie recalled her adventures with Cherisse out of uniform.
There was the time, they went to a “low-rent Chippendales” male strip bar. Cherisse ended up dating the dancer billed as “the Italian Stallion,” who during the day was a lineman for Seattle City Light.

Commentary: Copperfield ‘rape victim’ arrested for prostitution
By Anthony L Hall
“This alleged crime occurred on a small island Copperfield bought from the Bahamian government last year; which he has magically transformed into a bohemian paradise called Musha Cay… One can certainly understand why this woman probably assumed that he was immune to criminal charges there, and why he probably presumes that what Copperfield wants on Musha Cay, Copperfield takes…
“The 23-year-old model who has accused magician David Copperfield of rape is now facing misdemeanor charges of prostitution and filing a false report after she allegedly tried to solicit $2,000 for sex from a man in Bellevue. The charges were filed Tuesday by the Bellevue City Prosecutor’s Office against Lacey L. Carroll of Kirkland, who represented the City of Kirkland and was first runner-up in the 2010 Miss Washington USA pageant.

Co-founder of background-check company charged with lying to Seattle grand jury about sex acts
SEATTLE (AP) — An executive at the background-check company Intelius Inc. who recently promoted an iPhone application for weeding out sleazy dates has been charged with lying to a Seattle grand jury when he denied engaging in sex acts at a strip club.
John Kenneth Arnold, a co-founder and executive vice president of business development at Intelius, pleaded not guilty Thursday in federal court following his arrest.
The indictment alleges that Arnold, who is married, lied to a grand jury when he testified he had never engaged in sex acts with dancers at Rick’s. His testimony was part of the government’s racketeering investigation of the club’s owner, Frank Colacurcio Sr. — an investigation that has included secreting hidden cameras in the establishment. Colacurcio, his son and three associates were indicted in July on conspiracy to commit racketeering and other charges.

Seattle Escorts: Intelius Co-Founder John Arnold Indicted On Charges He Lied About Not Having …

… Bellevue-based Intelius has already earned a less-than-savory reputation, as Nina Shapiro detailed in a cover story last March. But things are looking even worse for the online info giant–and for another famous local business–now that 44-year-old Intelius co-founder John Kenneth Arnold has gotten himself ensnared in the ongoing prosecution of Frank Colacurcio and his confederates.
Last February, Arnold appeared before a federal grand jury, where he was questioned on whether he’d engaged in sex acts with strippers at the Colacurcio-owned T-bar, Rick’s. He said he didn’t. The federal government has apparently called bullshit on that. Today, Arnold was arrested and arraigned. He pleaded not guilty.
As Rick Anderson detailed in a July 2008 cover story, the 92-year-old Colacurcio and his son Frank Jr. were indicted last fall on a litany of charges, including running a prostitution racket out of their clubs.

Seattle Escorts: Strip club bust leads to charges against Intelius exec

Posted on January 29th, 2010 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

Testifying as part of a years-long investigation into several businesses associated with Seattle strip club mogul Frank Colacurcio Sr., Intelius co-founder John Kenneth Arnold denied having sexual contact with dancers at the club.
That testimony, federal prosecutors claim in charging documents, was false.
According to court records, Arnold was brought before the grand jury in February, four months before a grand jury indictment against Colacurcio, his son, Frank Colacurcio Jr., and four other men was unveiled.
In the indictment, federal authorities accused the Colacurcios and their associates of racketeering, using interstate commerce to facilitate prostitution, money laundering and mail fraud. At issue are allegations that the strip clubs — Rick’s in Seattle, Sugar’s in Shoreline, Honey’s in Everett and Fox’s in Tacoma — were used as fronts for prostitution that allegedly garnered the men $25 million in the past four years.
