Strip club boss Colacurcio, son and others indicted
Northwest strip club mogul Frank Colacurcio Sr. and his son, Frank Jr., and four others have been indicted by a grand jury on charges of racketeering, conspiracy, mail fraud and money laundering related to alleged prostitution inside their clubs.
The indictment follows a years-long investigation and raids last June by both police and federal agents on Colacurcio-owned clubs in Seattle, Pierce and King Counties, including Rick’s on Lake City Way, and Talents West, a Colacurcio-owned agency that hires strippers for the clubs. Rick’s is a frequent target of law enforcement vice investigations.
This investigation — which involved the use of undercover officers, confidential informants and unspecified surveillance techniques — focused on allegations that the clubs are veiled fronts for prostitution where the house takes a cut of the action.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Local personalities remember the King!

… My last Michael Jackson CD was the five CD box set and DVD which came out in 2006, which I got myself as a Birthday gift. One of my most memorable Michael Jackson features was a  VH1 Behind the Music, where a former prostitute confessed that on the road Joe Jackson, Michael’s father used to invite prostitutes into his sons, room when they were on the road touring. On one occasion the prostitute interviewed by VH1 says she was asked to help MJ lose his virginity and was put in a room alone with him. Instead, she said she left the hotel that night converted by Michael Jackson into a Jehovah’s witness. But that was Michael, always having a profound impact on persons across the world, myself included. I remember him for the influence he had not just on entertainers, not just on black people, but on the human race, like no one else has done before.

Seattle Escorts: A case for the single life

Posted on June 28th, 2009 in Seattle escorts by seattleescortlover

The high number of divorces means there’s an even higher number of unhappy marriages because some couples stay married even if they’re unhappy being married.  There are dating web sites for people who are “married but looking!”  In addition, a high percent of escort service clients are married.  One Seattle area escort told me almost 80% of her clients are married and her boyfriend is a married man!
There’s a fatal flaw in the way we mate and date to marry.   It comes to a head when people move in together.  In college, I saw a few best friends move in together to become roommates, only to become mere acquaintances by the end of the school year.  The social and emotional dynamic of a relationship changes once two people are in each other’s personal space every day.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t change for the better all the time.

Mariners Lose Ruling Over Strip Club Near Safeco Field
Posted: 11:32 am PDT June 26, 2009
SEATTLE — A King County judge has ruled that a strip club can open near Safeco Field.
The judge issued a ruling Friday against the Mariners, who argued that the city should not have issued a permit for a strip club on First Avenue just south of the ballpark. The Mariners said that Safeco Field should be considered a park, and city codes don’t allow strip clubs near places like parks where there are kids.
The Mariners have 21 days to appeal the ruling.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Art Set in Concrete: the Desolate Urban Landscapes of High Culture

Yet the clichés of political correctitude have even encroached on atavistic Texas: of course the opera house “is designed to be the environmentally conscious, state-of-the-art standard against which future opera houses will be measured”—a prospect that will certainly let the big-haired ladies and their Stetson-topped men snooze more easily through Lohengrin after having driven in for the evening in their patriotic gas hogs, and flown in architects, materials, singers from all over the globe.
Similarly disingenuous is the claim that the green areas provided by Foster’s “Grand Portico will provide shade over three acres of the Performance Park creating new outdoor spaces for visitors and nearby residents to gather and relax.” Nearby residents? Forgive me, but I doubt any of the nearby bail bondsmen and prostitutes will be venturing across the ghastly perimeter of expressways to take in the useful things Mozart had to say about sex in or around Norman Foster’s red building. The lawns and tree-lined avenues of the pseudo-park-like campus of the Arts Center only augment the artificiality of the whole project. Dallas rolls out bright green turf as easily as a red carpet.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Army sergeant charged with pimping teen – United Press International

Posted on June 27th, 2009 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

TACOMA, Wash., June 3 (UPI) — An Army sergeant facing Washington state charges of promoting prostitution has now been charged by federal prosecutors with sex trafficking of a child.
Sgt. Sterling Terrance Hospedales, 26, who was stationed at Fort Lewis, is now being held in a detention center at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, The (Tacoma) News Tribune reported.
In a news release, federal prosecutors said a task force investigating child sex trafficking discovered that a 17-year-old runaway from Seattle who had been posting ads on Craigslist was working out of an apartment Hospedales provided for her. Investigators also found a 16-year-old recently arrived from Wyoming who said he paid for her plane ticket.
“The second girl stated that she had only been in town a week, and had taken pictures to post on Craigslist for prostitution purposes, but had not started earning money for Hospedales,” prosecutors said.

Seattle Strip Clubs: Take me out to the strip club? Judge says play ball – Seattle Post Intelligencer

Take me out to the strip club? Judge says play ball

Erlick rejected the Mariners assertion that the City Council meant to keep strip clubs at least 800 feet away from “areas where children congregate” or sports arenas. That language is absent from the city ordinance drafted after Seattle’s wholesale ban on new strip clubs was rejected as unconstitutional.

Buck dismissed the Mariners’ assertions that children would be harmed by the strip club as specious.
Buck noted that a Déjà Vu club across First Avenue from Pike Place Market has done little to discourage or offend tourists there. And, like all Washington state strip clubs, the proposed facility will not serve alcohol.

Erlick’s ruling marked the first serious test of the 4-year-old restrictions on where strip clubs can be. Buck praised it as showing that business owners can get a fair shake, regardless of the business they’re in.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Ananda Osel’s ‘Dispatches’ are far from absurd

Posted on June 25th, 2009 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

Osel’s latest chapbook Dispatches from the Third World was published this Spring (in time for National Poetry Month) and was inspired by a trip to Thailand in April.  The 23 poems were written and edited and published in a span of two months.  He had visited Thailand before and went a second time to specifically write this book.  He was there for less than a month and wrote nearly 40 poems there.  The poems in Dispatches were selected from that material.
Even though the chapbook is less than 40 pages, it still packs quite a punch.  Most of the poems are
serious reflections on the poverty and prostitution and politics in this third world country; however, there are a few that are unintentionally funny like “A Real American” where he tells a tuk tuk driver he’s from Canada and the the driver asks, “what is a Canada?” and “Conversation with Monk at 7-11.”  The most profound poem in the collection is “Dispatches from the Third World” where Osel admits that he thought about not writing the poem out of respect to the “proud nationalistic people” of Thailand but found that he could not ignore the truth about young Thai prostitutes

Seattle Strip Clubs: NYT: Duke Lacrosse Players Killed Meredith Kercher

Whether it is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Weather Underground, Central Park rapists, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Jim Jones and the People’s Temple, welfare recipients, Palestinian terrorists, murderers, abortionists, strippers or common criminals — liberals always take the side of the enemies of civilization against civilization.

In the view of The New York Times, every criminal trial is a shocking miscarriage of justice — except the ones that actually are shocking miscarriages of justice.

Thus, in last week’s Times, Timothy Egan wrote about a shocking miscarriage of justice being carried out against a “high-spirited” American girl accused of murder by a crazed prosecutor in Perugia, Italy.

Egan’s column bears as much relationship to the facts of the case as — well, I guess as anything printed in the Times. And yet every American news network has embraced Egan’s version and is flacking for the accused.

Seattle Adult Entertainment: Key witness in Hecht case faces charges

Posted on June 24th, 2009 in Seattle adult entertainment by seattlesleuth

Hesketh is the admitted drug addict who claims Hecht threatened to kill him last summer during a confrontation in downtown Tacoma.
The state Attorney General’s Office has charged Hecht with felony harassment in the case.
State prosecutors contend the judge threatened Hesketh because he’d heard the younger man was talking about selling sex to him, according to court documents filed by assistant attorney general John Hillman.
Hecht has pleaded not guilty to threatening Hesketh and to a separate misdemeanor charge alleging he purchased sex from another young man. The judge is to go to trial in September.
The state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct also has charged Hecht with violating judicial canons by allegedly directing “threatening behavior” toward Hesketh after the judge came to believe he was “talking to others about respondent’s conduct with young male prostitutes.”
